Trending Wedding Styles 2021

Classic soft elegance

This timeless trend really does exert formal luxury. A black-tie reception with bridal party and guests dressing to the nines, the overall venue aesthetic will have to match accordingly – take our venue for example. This classic trend is pulling out all the stops for a dreamy reception, including an exquisite head table, clean and eye-catching furniture, a multi-tier cake, a room full of florals and don’t forget room for a dancefloor.

We really do love to see weddings that stray from traditions such as this colourful whimsical trend. Bold hues mixed with the greenery of a garden make for the ultimate wonderland-inspired wedding. Bohemian styled weddings have been around for a while now, but we are starting to notice a new trend with a pop of colour and quirkiness to it. This carefree approach has us swooning, we just picturing a whimsical garden party.

70s inspired

There is no doubt that 70s style is making a comeback, not only with fashion, but with décor and wedding styling too. The dried florals, monochrome colour palette, pampas, and vintage furniture all make for a modern 70s styled wedding without the hippy glasses and panel vans.

Art Deco

This theme screams 1920 glitz and glam with geometric designs, black, gold and metallic accents and of course the jaw-dropping champagne tower. This style wedding we love to see, it’s more of a party than anything, with a live band getting guests off their chairs, pyrotechnics and some stunning chandeliers to take the venue to the next level.

At Metropolis we are always encouraging our couples to design a wedding that reflects who they are as a couple and embrace what they love. So, we love seeing couples stray from traditions and select a colour palette filled with dark hues and moody florals. The dark tones in this theme when accompanied by a pop of colour create such a dramatic and unforgettable feel. For this wedding theme, you will find black table linen incorporated with burgundy, fuchsia, mauve florals and gold accents through charger plates, stationery and candles.
