DRUM ROLL PLEASE...
In addition to maintaining our ‘crown’ for best venue this year, we also took home the placement of Top 5 – Wedding Venue – Coordinator across the country. This is a true team effort, and we are proud of our current event planning team, Natasha Rowe and Yvonne Muriithi, for their amazing skills and dedication to their couples. We also want to thank our former team members who contributed significantly to creating magical wedding experiences.
This incredible achievement speaks to the hard work of our entire team for their dedication to making each couples event just that little bit more special.
We also extend a huge thank you to our valued suppliers and partners for their support throughout 2023.
But wait, there’s more!
As we pop the champagne to celebrate, we want to reminisce on past weddings we hosted and the incredible couples that have stepped through our Metropolis doors. Whilst we love all our couples, we want to hero some of the grandest weddings we have hosted.
At Metropolis Events, we’ve been honoured to host a range of beautiful weddings, each unique and special in its own way. While we take a moment to showcase some recent grandest weddings that have graced our venue, we want every couple to know that you are the heart of what we do. Each ceremony or reception, grand or intimate, is cherished. If your wedding isn’t featured here, please know it is no less special to us.
Every love story is beautiful, and we’re grateful to have been a part of yours.
OUR FAVOURITE WEDDINGS OF 2023
RITU AND SANKET
Kicking off 2023, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting Ritu and Sanket who celebrated their love in our venue with a beautifully styled cultural reception designed by Lettuce & Co. The venue was transformed into a vibrant space with eye-catching pops of rich reds and intense turquoise. Each table was decorated with incredible floral arrangements, creating a visual impact for guests. The flowers added a natural taste while enhancing the overall love for Indian culture. Above the dance floor, gold chandeliers created an illuminating glow that complimented the colour palette throughout the venue space. The seating arrangements were carefully curated with round and long tables. The photos scream grand if you ask us, and Ritu and Sanket’s wedding reception was the perfect example of how Metropolis Events provides a canvas where tradition can be explored.

jayden and jessica
WOW JUST WOW! Jayden and Jessica’s wedding reception showcased a stunning array of colours, embracing bright red floral arrangements on guests and the bridal table. The spotlight then shifted to the towering, crisp white wedding cake positioned as a focal point in the middle of the dancefloor. The elegance continued throughout with the incorporation of gold accents on cutlery and chairs, ultimately elevating the experience for guests.
chris and tiffany
The couple’s wedding reception was a visual masterpiece! Blending tradition and modern touches. Traditional chandeliers hover over the bridal table, creating a timeless and romantic experience and perfect for photos. Positioned in front of our iconic New York-styled floor-to-ceiling windows, the venue offers a breathtaking view you can’t see anywhere else in Melbourne. Neutral florals contributed to an understated yet refined look, and candlelit touches added intimacy and a soft glow for when the sunset. As Chris and Tiffany took to the dancefloor, our AV specialists, Technical Events, placed fireworks on both sides that lit up the space, creating excitement and entertainment for all attending.
khiara and daniel
This ceremony was one to remember! It was held in our beautiful Aviary room, a perfect space for intimate ceremonies surrounded by loved ones. Petals were thrown onto the newlyweds in a nice traditional touch as the ceremony wrapped up. They then were led into their reception, where they celebrated their love with family and friends.

We were BLOWN away with this one! Hannah and Michael’s reception explored a dark, intimate colour palette with white florals peppered throughout, creating a contrast against the bright city views from our Panorama Room. Serving as a focal point, chandeliers hovered over the bridal table.

vic and kimlynn
Vic and Kimlynn’s reception presented a contemporary twist on the traditional celebration, embracing a non-traditional seated dinner experience. The colour palette of purple and gold was placed throughout the venue with touches of white, creating a regal yet modern feel. The stylist Ruffle and Bells combined hues that blended seamlessly, creating a bold and defined look. The standout feature was the main attraction, with the gold-trimmed chandelier installation, now a current trend we see with our couples. Personalisation took centre stage with custom menus and a seating chart featuring the newlyweds’ initials combined. These thoughtful details added a unique touch.

anne-marie and christopher
A highlight of Anne Marie and Christopher’s wedding reception is the fringed five-piece chandelier installation by our in-house AV team, Technical Events, and the supplier Pro Light and Sound. These fixtures hung over the bridal table, creating an eye-catching attraction for guests entering the room. The floral arrangements combined pink and black created a bold statement against a delicate finish. The mixture of these elements created a unique space and atmosphere of timeless beauty.

willis and clarissa
Metropolis was speechless with Willis and Clarissa’s wedding reception. The ceiling installation was for the books fitted with real florals. The dancefloor became a canvas of personalisation as the couple’s names overlaid in gold. Cultural elements took to the d-floor with traditional Chinese dragons gracefully dancing around the venue. These symbolic touches added a cultural experience and infused the venue with high energy, allowing guests to get up and have fun.

erina and luke
Erina and Luke’s reception was an incredible whimsical display infused with an ethereal touch. The ceiling arrangement featured shades of purple, green and beige that blended seamlessly. Adding to the dynamic mood, a chequered dancefloor became the stage for a lively entrance for the bridal party and newlyweds. The seating arrangements were dressed in similar colours, with various florals on each guest table.
